Noosa-North Reef 05-06-09

A spectacular day in Noosa today.Light winds, sun shining and no swell.Headed to North Reef with Adrian about midday and ran into some hungry fish and some whales which put on a good show for us.
I managed some nice pictures of the whales breaching.
Got some very nice snapper and sweetlip on plastics which was top fun and delicious on the table to top it off.
Sunset was pretty awesome too.

Noosa-Woods Bay 13-05-09

A quick little afternoon session locally in the river here at Noosa.

Resulted in a beautifull little Diamond Trevally which are just great to catch due to their rarity.

Caught the fish on a prawn imatation plastic whic is just deadly on so many fish here.

Suva-Fiji 06-05-09

May 2009 and I decided to make a solo trip over to Suva Fiji.
I was to meet up with two Fijian locals George Lee and Sachin Chaudry.
These guys were awesome company and excellent fishing guides. They know the waters like the back of their hands and although the weather for my trip was really bad I did manage some great fish.
Chasing big GT's was the primary objective and we popped the waters in 30knot winds and rain but it was top fun.
These popper crunching animals are seriously tough fish and fighting them is a vicious tug-of-war so itense that if you lose you can quite easily end up on your bum looking embarrased.

Landbased Longtail Lunatics 21-04-09

We headed up the coast a little on the 21st April 2009 to one of our favourite rock fishing destinations.

Normally at this time of year the run of tuna is smaller fish but the numbers are excellent.

This year it was absolutely incredible.

Although the fish were small averaging 4-10kg the amount of fish had to be seen to be believed.

For two hours on the 21-04-09 we had school after school after school of longtails passing by and crashing every lure put in front of them.

I have never seen anything quite like it before.

Possibly one of those freaky days where mass schools of fish congregate and are hungry.
I think we had 13 blokes hooked up all at once at one stage.

Anyway....thankfully I was right there in the thick of it.

Perfect day with Snapper & Tuna 15-04-09

One of those crazy fishing days where everything just goes your way.
First drop with a plastic and I was connected to a Longtail Tuna about 10kg.
A loooong fight using the 'snapper plastic gear' resulted but we landed the fish about half an hour later.
The snapper started slow and we didnt really expect to much as it was the middle of the day.
We didnt get many but the ones we did catch were excellent quality.
Beautifull clean fish and I landed one at around 7.5kg and Adrian got one around the same size.
Catching snapper like this in the middle of the day was pretty exciting stuff.

Mackeral Mayhem 03-03-09

Had a pretty incredible session on the Spanish Mackeral today.
We landed nine (3 each) in quick time on slow trolled live pike.
Mackeral fillets for dinner the next few nights.
