Mackeral Mayhem 03-03-09

Had a pretty incredible session on the Spanish Mackeral today.
We landed nine (3 each) in quick time on slow trolled live pike.
Mackeral fillets for dinner the next few nights.

Big Wahoo 18-02-10

Headed out today with Adrian.
Plan was to chase some Mackeral and after some trolling we dropped anchor and decided to set a burley trail.
As luck would have it I picked up a cracking Wahoo that went 23kg.
Caught on a floating pillie in the burley trail.
Not very conventional but I was happy.

Noosa's Jacks & Bull Sharks 06-01-09 -12-01-09

January 2009 I had some fantastic fishing in the local creeks here at Noosa.
The little Bull Sharks invade the shallow creeks over the summer and sending out a live poddy mullet under a float always receives some attention from these agro little sharks.

I also scored some excellent Mangrove Jacks and caught a new PB of 55cm.
Another 50cm model was landed about two days later also.
These Jacks know how to pull extremely hard and the fights are brutal tug of wars that dont last to long.
Either you manage to stop them reaching a snag or they beat you and bust you off.

Great fun.

Game Fishing @ Noosa December 2008

Great season for gamefishing in SEQ for 2008.
Huge numbers of Billfish invaded Hervey Bay Waters and gradually made their way down the coast.
I managed some nice Dolphin Fish,A Marlin at about 50kg and last in the season a good wahoo at 23kg.
Slow trolled Garfish did the trick for Adrian and myself.

Tavenui (Fiji) 7-14/08/2008

Tavenui Fiji was a spectacular destination to visit.

The trip for me was my first attempt as serious GT fishing as well as a family holiday.

It was very successfull on both fronts and the GT popping became a new obsession.

Highlights of the trip included ten GT's landed in the first two hours fishing,a 23kg GT landed on PE 3 (30lb) and the variety of species landed.

We caught GT's,Red Bass,Maori Sea Perch,Triggerfish,Bluefin Trevally and Cod.

One awesome trip.
